Kids think first. AI comes second.

Creative AI Labs is an online learning studio for children aged 8–10. We teach them to think clearly, imagine boldly and question everything — and then, and only then, we show them how to put AI to work. That order matters. It's the whole idea.

Why we exist

Most children today will meet AI before they meet algebra. It will finish their sentences, answer their questions and offer to do their homework. Used well, that's extraordinary. Used early and unthinkingly, it quietly removes the very struggle that builds a thinking mind.

We started Creative AI Labs because we kept seeing the same two extremes: schools banning AI outright, or apps handing children answers on a plate. Neither prepares a child for the world they're growing into.

There is a third way. Teach the child to think first. Then hand them the tool.

What we believe

The blank page is the lesson.

Before any child touches an AI tool in our labs, they've already had their own idea. AI is never the starting point — it's the collaborator that shows up after the thinking is done.

Curiosity beats compliance.

We'd rather a child ask a strange question than give a correct answer. Our sessions reward the "but what if…" instinct that most classrooms are too busy to entertain.

Creativity is a skill, not a gift.

It can be taught, practised and measured. We build it deliberately, week by week, the same way you'd build reading or arithmetic.

Children should be the authors, not the audience.

Everything a child makes with us is theirs — their idea, their voice, their decisions. AI helps them build it. It doesn't build it for them.

Judgement is the real literacy.

Knowing what AI got wrong, what it made up, and when not to use it at all — that's the skill that will still matter in fifteen years.

What we do

We run an 8-week creative and AI literacy programme, delivered live and online, in small groups.

Each week pairs a creative challenge with a thinking skill. Children invent, write, design, argue and build — and along the way they learn what AI actually is, how it works, where it fails, and how to direct it rather than be directed by it.

By the end of the eight weeks, a child in our programme can:

  • Generate and develop their own original ideas without prompting from a tool
  • Explain in plain language what an AI model is doing when it answers them
  • Write clear, specific instructions to get useful results from an AI tool
  • Spot when an AI answer is wrong, biased, invented or simply unhelpful
  • Decide for themselves when a task needs a machine and when it needs a human
  • Present a finished piece of work they're genuinely proud of

No prior experience is needed. No coding background is needed. Just a child who likes making things.

Who it's for

Children aged 8–10 who ask too many questions. Children who are bored. Children who are curious but shy. Children whose parents can see where the world is heading and want them ready for it — as thinkers, not just users.

We keep groups small on purpose. Every child gets heard.

You are part of this. From the moment you enrol, you get a clear view of what your child is learning, when their classes run and how they're progressing. Class links, materials and updates arrive in one place — no hunting through email threads.

We're also genuinely open to being told when something isn't working. Parent feedback shapes the programme every single cohort, and we'd rather hear it early than never.

Safety is non-negotiable. Sessions are supervised, group sizes are small, and the tools children use are age-appropriate and chosen with care.
